Being newly arrived to the Macleay Valley Mid North Coast to set up a home-based business in the year 2000, not knowing very many people, businesses, not having any school age children to be introduced to other families, it was difficult for my husband and I to set up a business from scratch without knowing who’s who in the surrounding business areas.
I was invited to join the Macleay River Business Women’s Network (MRBWN) along with other new members who voted for the name of the network, committee, advertising, procedures, badges etc, in 2002. I found the ladies in the MRBWN very welcoming, encouraging and supportive, exchanging ideas, introducing each of our own businesses, listening to experienced advice, recommendations and information from women in the workforce.
It’s great exposure, run very efficiently 1-1 and1/2 hours every month, with a variety of guest speakers, someone also available via a phone call or email to assist with business enquiries. I am very proud of this association and would like to congratulate all the ladies who have volunteered and juggled their busy schedules to make the Macleay River Business Women’s Network what it is today and now to be involved in the launch of it’s website with links available to all of the members 2008. Well done ladies.”
Kind Regards
